Frequently Asked Questions

.1 Are you a licensed roofing company?

Yes. We're Licensed Building Practitioners (LBP), as required for anyone installing a roof in New Zealand, and we're proud members of the Roofing Association of New Zealand (RANZ).

2. What warranty do you offer on a new roof or reroof?

We're so confident in the quality of our work that we back it with an extensive 15-year workmanship warranty on all new roofs and re-roofs — 10 years on top of the standard 5. It's our way of giving you long-term peace of mind.

3. Can you convert my tile roof to Colorsteel?

Yes. Converting from metal tiles is a straightforward process. Heavy clay or concrete tiles may require a building consent to convert, so we strongly recommend applying for an exemption first — we're happy to help guide you through this.

4. How long does a typical reroof take?

This depends on the size and complexity of your roof, but most residential re-roofs are completed within a week. We'll give you a clear timeframe upfront once we've assessed the job, so you know exactly what to expect.

5. What happens to my old roof once it's removed?

We take care of everything — all old roofing materials and rubbish are removed from your property and disposed of responsibly as part of the job, so you're left with nothing to deal with. If you want to keep the old roof, that’s an option too, but you will have to keep all of it as the scrap metal price is factored into our quote to cover disposal costs.

6. I'm worried about water getting into my house while the roof is being worked on — how do you manage this?

This is a common concern, and it's one we take seriously. We work efficiently to minimise the time your roof is exposed, and take precautions to protect your home throughout the process, so you can have confidence your property stays protected from start to finish.

7. How much does a reroof typically cost?

Every roof is different, so pricing depends on factors like the size and pitch of your roof, the materials chosen, and whether any additional work (like fascia painting or new spouting) is needed at the same time. The best way to get an accurate figure is a free, no-obligation quote — get in touch and we'll assess your roof and talk you through the options.

8. Are you insured?

Yes. We carry public liability insurance for your peace of mind, on top of being Licensed Building Practitioners and RANZ members — so you know your property is in safe, qualified hands throughout the job.

9. Do I need to be home while the work is happening?

Not necessarily — many of our customers aren't home during the job. We just ask that we have clear access to the roof and work area. We'll keep you updated throughout, and you're welcome to be around as much or as little as you like.
